baals will always have meaning. they're being done cos convenience of same map patterns (wsk2/wsk3) and ability to stand on 1 spot killing baal waves to get exp.
if Chaos Sanctuary had same thing that would allow u to stand on 1 spot and kill everything around yourself, then baalruns wouldn't exist

If you look at d2 lod party screen, it has space for 8 players (other than self) not 7 for a total of 9 in game
