Even w/ upped titans, fort, pheonix mon, and a2 merc pride, plague javelin doesn't really seem to do all that much damage.

It's playable, but it seems really expensive for a build that isn't "good."

Am I missing something here?

I thought people were suggesting that PJ would do like 20k damage, but it does like 4k.

Edit: I see. PJ benefits mostly from +skills, which kills the fend damage because of the way the game is itemized. That seems really whacky.

Trang gloves and bramble armor alone will boost your poison damage by 75%

Your gear is fairly whack

I rolled 4 brambles and they were all around 35%. I forgot about tranq gloves though ty.

Bramble is trash

Ideally if youre looking to boost poison damage thats the way to go. Skillers help a ton, a 4 faceted monarch gives a monster boost, a nice circ with skills frw and 2 facets helps, etc.

Your fend will be kinda crappy but who cares when you can throw 80K+ plague javs.

Lower resist wand on swap helps with some immunes

Well your build is probably as high as itll go outside some nice rare javs honestly. Im not sure fend will ever be a competative ability unless they pump its damage up

Can't you DWeb swap mid-Jav and it'll apply the poison res -% ?

It works, but only if you physically hit with the thrown javelin. With that strategy, and optimally built, you can supposedly 1-hit diablo clone. I tried once, but couldn't build it optimally because of the cost... but still i did it, took about 10 javelins if i remember correctly.

Plague javazon can be a nice way to go through normal and nightmare, it's quite overpowered early game and also a safe choice for hardcore. Although you will struggle with poison immune monsters like andariel and baal's wave 5. But using a lower resist wand helps.
