what other alternatives are there that arent super expensive early on
also I heard they took away r/d for making quick games is that true?
can I just pindel 24.7?

yes you can. as long as your rns are longer than 30-45 seconds ( i cant recall the cooldown on games, its 60 seconds i believe )

Kicker and Frenzy work too. Here's a level 1 to UT walk, without farming gear:




Here's the cheapest budget Frenzy Barb to ever do UT (using only normal items found in normal):
