No, Mephisto can NOT drop Griffon.

The Griffon's Eye has an Ilvl of 84, meaning that it can only be found in certain areas of Hell difficulty. It is a very rare drop even in these areas.

Iirc Baal have high change, maybe Pindle and Nihlat too and some superunique monsters.

While is true that mephisto can't drop griffon like people pointed out, the problem is not mephisto's level.

Mephisto has enough lvl to drop griffon (is lvl87 after all) but he only has a TC of 78, and griffon need a TC of 87.
