Firewall and fireball are both viable and both efficient on the damage gain per skill level. Both work in games with more than 2 players

Firewall pros
1 can be cast behind a mob to target specific monster
2 strong against monster ai that stands still, eg heirophants, oblivions
3 can cast and evade attacks while dps kills

Firewall cons
1) bad against large mobs due to damage pattern
2) bad against fast moving or aggro monster ai
3) cast delay means if you miss you're fucked

Fireball pros
1) easy to target any monster ai
2) radius damage kills mobs
3) no cast delay

Fireball cons
1) must have 63 fcr breakpoint to use efficiently
2) can take damage while you stand and cast
3) shield block and fhr interrupt casting
4) cannot target monsters that are behind like oblivions behind doom knights

Common cold immunes in a crush that you may face
Nm sies
A2 hell gorebellies
A2 hell vipers
A2 hell cold worm
A2 hell ghoul lords
A2 hell greater mummies in tal rasha tomb(I think)

Toorc ice fist
A3 durance level 3 ghoul lords (forgot name)

Some say you can skip them, but it's up to you

As for me, I've played every combo of orb and fire skills more times than I can remember so I tend to do more degenerate and shittier orb and lightning tree builds, they are way worse but more interesting once you get bored

Both routes are wrong

Depends on your goals, fire skills makes for a better experience for the rushee in hell act 2, but max9ng teleport instead makes for a better experience for the rushee not chugging mana

But you have maphack so who cares, just go full blizz

Nova is doable but takes an equally large skill point investment as fireball to be useful.

Charged bolt has approximately double the dps as nova at any comparable skill point investment

It's more of a style choice if you want to play nova because its definately not #1

You can use the orb 95% of the time.
