Forgive me if these opinions have already been posted.

I'm curious what people think of the remaster. I played back in 2006-2009 quite a bit then didn't play for 10 years. Did a stint about a year ago and i was reminded how addictive it is. I have to buy a new comp in order to run the game so I have a few questions if anyone cares to offer their opinion.


1. Overall thoughts on the remake? Did they do a good job? Functionality wise anyway?

2. I heard servers are glitchy and games drop and lag. Thoughts?

3. How's the cheating/botting/dupping situation. I've never used a map hack or bot, and I dont run any more than one game/character at a time. I have no problem grinding for dozens of hours per week to get good stuff but when I find it and its worth nothing because its been dupped a bunch or bots flood the market with 100 chars running 24/7, it kinda sucks. I remember last year mid ladder a shako was 2fg, anni 10fg and a ber was 30-35. I am aware that these things happen and I still like playing but im curious if its any better.

4. How busy is it? I logged on recently to classic LOD and played a bit but there were only a handful of people and like 1 or 2 games at a time just chant and bots. (On hardcore) clearly people have switched over to D2R, but how many?

Any geneneral thoughts would be great. I have only ever played hardcore and I'm really only interested in hardcore, thats why server issues and lack of players would make it not worth starting back up.

I think they did a great job. Has it's hiccups, but still same feel IMO. I don't have any buyers remorse.

I've heard a lot of chatter about it being broken...

Teleport is really messed up, cant reblind (hold tele on target) also if your stomping monsters it will sometimes randomly teleport you like Oculus
thats just one of many game breaking differences

Vanilla d2 pvp is better from every gameplay standpoint.

Can be fun cuz old mechanism are really "emulated" rather than implemented =)

What about the botting and item dupes? The market seems more normal. Expensive in fact which is a good sign. Bots not up and running yet?

All in all D2r is the worse game, they care a bit about bots / cheats at the moment (im sure that wont last for long) and they made a graphic update.

Outside of that, they removed everything that was interesting about d2, the prepatch items, buggeds, Hybrids, and more important all the glitches that became a important part of d2 a long time ago.

Not often i agree wholeheartedly with you but on this i do. Graphics does look good, but with so much complaints and bugs, it's not worth 40$. Can't even play hardcore because load times kills people when they enter duriel's tomb.
