So one of my accounts is under the situation that if you enter the (correct) password, it gets stuck at please wait for a few moments then it says the password is wrong and boots me. Its just like if you delete a character, and try to reclaim the name. Stuck at waiting forever, does this resolve itself after days or?

sounds like the account has been flagged. try not logging in for 24 hrs and then retry

Made a ticket, lets see how it goes!

if you are logging on and never get to the password screen and it just say "please wait" in a endless loop that means your ip / account is temporary restricted. this is a more aggressive punishment compared to wait in line @ 2.5 million.

if you do wait inline it can take around 14 to 20 days on restriction but if you get the "please wait" loop it can be either 24 to 72 hours OR up to about 30 days and getting a ticket wont help since bliz wont lift the suspension.

there is a workaround for this but it requires time effort and resources. what i do is have ip / account / email active on one residential ip then have another set of ip account email active and fully compartmentalized on another residential ip. if team 1 goes down (and it will) i can fallback to team b. with that in mind try and set up a similar system. since ip accounts and email are all linked dont log into an account that is under restriction on another ip as blizzard will see the evasion and restrict that account too. instead run groups of accounts in parallel this is the best evasion tactic.

perhaps you covered it. The password he enters is correct, the botter, and it times out oddly as if theres an issue. Glad to know its a lockout.

you are not ip restricted or you would not be able to input our account name and pass

it does not look like a bad password but in 25 years i have never seen this error before so this is indeed new.


what i would do to rule anything out is 2 things:

1. make sure Windows Defender is not blocking any traffic try disabling it then doing another login test.
2. diablo 2 is a digital install so just to rule anything out because this is so odd try a fresh reinstall.

even if you do that i dont believe it will actually solve anything because this login bug might be bliz server side.

can you log into other accounts? is this issue just isolated to this account/password? have you tried logging in on other ip/ cd installs?

this does not look like a 24/48/72 hour wait issue and it does not look like a lockout issue. this type of error that you showed in the video is completely new

Ya I can log into all my other accounts no problem. So damn maybe I have to wait till the server reset this december for ladder. I don't have any other installs or other ips availible, but me and the botter both tried separately and it didnt work out.

Try to change your password and see what it does.

is the account registered? can you open a ticket with bliz?


there is one possible reason why this can happen, sometimes when you are online and you get disconnected the server still registers you as online. sometimes you need a bliz rep to kick your account offline for you to log back in. this theory could explain why you did not a password request email.

*it can take a few weeks for the server to disconnect players or accounts its not fast but it does happen automatically. a bliz rep is just faster.
