Hey all. just curious if there is a benefit to leaving my items unidentified? I have seen posts requesting items in this fashion but I am not sure what to leave unid or what to actually ID now. Am I better off just to keep identifying the gear and trading normally?

Thanks for any input. Currently got a SS, String, Goldwrap, and others unid, but some items I dont even know what they are yet lol.

I've read might be viable for unid torches, but you have to sell on average cheaper per torch; but you're making money on potentially trash torches and losing on gg torches (unlikely). So by selling unid you need to sell by volume, or find someone willing to gamble on the item.

Risk and reward to put it plainly.

A poorly rolled identified item sells for less than it would had it been unidentified,
Just as a well rolled or perfect item would sell for a great deal more than it would unidentified.

some items like a shako dont need to be id'ed since you can clearly see the defense and that wont change once its id'ed, a ss the defence is clearly shown and if its 148 and you can see this unid you dont have to id it. i leave them unid until i socket them if its a ss just to make it easy to spot on mules - this is a pro level trick.

other items are a upfront gamble like a unid anni or torch. most of the time they are trash but that once in a great while you get a perf its a pants jiz moment.

with runewords like cta or hoto can be in a sense unid in you can sell it unmade and this is actually profitable since it would take 3-5 rolls to get a good hoto but with selling unmade you get profit on each sale on runes that would have been wasted if the roll was low.

if you buy an unid item its usually at a mid price since if the items roll is lower it would be worth less then the unid version. the seller is putting the risk on the buyer and still getting a mid average return with unid sales. so over time i have stopped buying unid items and just used perfs so i wont have to deal with upgrading from unid low mid high perf ect you get the idea.
