act2 Reaper merc with Fana via your Beast (if you use axes?) is one of the best dmg choises. He gets max hit speed to curse enemies with 52ias=5hits per second. A cap before that is 20ias, but does ~0,50 hits less a second.
Eth rune into Reaper so Bosses def drops down enough. (Ignore Def doesnt work, ofc)
if you want try Brand bow merc, then you have to make sure monsters hit her(the merc) and not you or the other players in the party, as the 35% chance to Amp to that is very low.
to Edit: and as a whole merc gear, I'd prefer: Etheal Reaper (Eth rune inside), Coa 30@ (+30fireres + Cham rune) + 60ias/160ed 4soc Armor, 15dr or 100hp.
cheaper choise is ofc Treachery (45ias) + 15ias from a helmet
