i have been on ever ladder since d2 came online for uswest. currently there is very few players online its very sad. sometimes when logging in i remember all the chat channels how jam packed it used to be, all the clan channels, op dclonewest is gone :( its quite empty now. i am one of the few players on west running around with just the highest end gear like 400 damage griefs when trades dont exist anymore. what is hard on ladder is since so few player are online is getting an anni. this ladder i only got my hands on 6 of them.
I would just like to see people play normal like not aiming for grief and anni. Just play normally. I think that's what broke the game. The constant "have to have the high end gear" mentality .. in my perspective, sold by marketeers to profiteer from newbs. People should just forgetabooudit and play normally. Give the surplus in "free" games, make public games, just play in groups, much funnier that way. I mean that too. In hardcore that would be very fun. But i made the mistake of playing public games some years ago, there is some activity at least at times, not often, once a paladin hostiled us at baal wave room, we didn't heed it, he charged down and i saw his sprite in the window, then saved and exited - yet i still saw the message that he killed one of the other on the team just before i left, lol. Crazy. And another time, which made me stop playing public games, i did eldricth n shenkruns in nightmare, som a hole joined, and hostiled me, yet i somehow was certain he could not reach me, nn what it was .. and on my way to shenk, lol just suddenly i died. Must have hacked somehow.
So, playing public games in hardcore = No go. Sad. It shouldn't have to be that way.
