question on shield

i've read around that pheonix shield works with smite as applied ed%

and that with the changes in 2.5 the firestorm ability no longer stops smite animation making this the best shield for smiters now?

just want to confirm if this is true

best base also would be sacred rondache / zakarum? for the consistent dmg?

D2R: Phoenix ED now applies to smite, firestorm no longer stops animation, ST always besta.

Nowadays I'll carry both an ST 45res and ED/AR Phoenix for swaps.

Offhand ED always worked, but firestorm used to slow down smite.
