1) After i went from normal act 3 to nightmare act 2, prices has increased quite a bit. I read that is because of character level increase, the prices increase each level, except rings and amulets. Is the logic behind this that there are more modifiers available, and better uniques and set items possible to gamble? Because otherwise, if gambling for specific low level items, wouldn't it be better to keep low level characters and gamble with them? To avoid spending more gold than necessary.

2) I spent about 5-10 million gold in normal trying to gamble for gull, chance guards and the battlebranch (poleaxe). Which is literally hundreds of each of those items. No luck. Of all the gambles, i got only one uniqe: Gorefoot.

When i reach nightmare act 3 travincal, i will begin to gamble again. But this time after specific items; Headstriker, and others i haven't decided yet. When i choose to gamble on a broad sword, will that automatically be selected as a battle sword? Or does it display as battle sword? I don't want to spend 20 million gold gambling and then get griswold's edge. That question goes for all other items too.

1. you want to keep your clvl as low as possible to avoid unwanted affixes and higher gambling costs. there may or may not be a logic behind why Blizzard implemented it this way, who can tell...
2. the gambling window only contains items of normal quality. there is a chance that the items get upgraded to exceptional or elite quality, this chance depends on the qlvl of the higher quality items and the ilvl (and is thus comnected to your clvl: higher clvl gives higher chance to upgrade)
