Let's say i have a mechanic's circlet of luck. Magic item. I let larzuk do his business to it. How many sockets do it end up with?

in legacy magic items can roll one or two sockets. Might be random. But yours has a mechanic's prefix, so it already has sockets?

the "Mechanic's" prefix puts sockets to an item. you cannot use Larzuk's quest reward on an item that already has sockets
