15 years ago I was facing scam attemps almost every days, now I think I had one attempt in 10 years. I wonder why, probably becase d2 players are older now ? What are you recent experiences with scammers ?

scammer accusation forum is still way too busy, a lot of activity came in when D2R was released

10 years .. i've seen people get scammed a lot in 10 years. Perhaps a bit less the last years. And i don't promote scamming, but d2r surely wrecked the d2 community. Scamming should have been handled on a systematic level all the way back in the 2000's, by blizzard. Only 2 full-time employers could have stopped 99% of it. But there was no will to do so.

I'll share my recent story: I'll call it "If you are that guy, fuck you"

Selling one of my pelts, this kid kept saying to me, "send it over private message so I can something something send it to my friend who would interested. Why wont you send it? Go over the item and shift f doesn't work, for private message it's ctrl f". Story ends with me telling him to fuck off and dropping a potion.

I fell for this one scam when I was like 7 years old where I opened a link and it made my mouse click all over the screen

so I slowly started dropping all my gear on the ground with my mouse pointer going crazy and I was too noob to know how to alt f4

So by the time I held the power button on my old crusty gateway PC which took like 10 seconds to shut off I dropped my whole inventory except like 2 items
