Ias Jewel Work In Helm?

I have a Socketed Gulli helm for my uber smiter.
Thinking of putting either an IAs or Ed Jewel in it but not sure if it will affect my smite or zeal damage or ias.
Anyone know if it will work?

Yo Holmes,
Ias And Edmg% Increases specific stat's towards smite.
60 Ias Is Max Bp, You Got That?
If Max Ias Already, Use 40ed/All Res Jewel.
If Iso Max Ias and/or res, Use 40ed-15ias Jewel or 15ias-15allres.

I would recommend high res and life leech, Consider Vamp Gaze, Drac's, Life Leech Ring(s) and Exile.

Guill's helps smash the uber bosses faster.
