I just played POE for the first time and I am wondering why people still play D2R? Poe is like D2 but so much more fun and not broken. You can actually progress through the campaign and after only once your in the end game which is insanely expansive.
Then we have D2R, where if your not a hammerdin you have to respect 2 to 3 times to reach endgame, then tirelessly farm for gear for thousands of runs. You constantly hit brick walls and then you can't even play certain areas of hell based on your build.
Then there's trading, D2R is so trade dependent it's basically just the most expensive pay to win game on the market. This makes this game super classist. Over-Privileged people just buy their gear and skip the entire game just to get on a leader board? Poe has trading but I never felt the need to use it, and it doesn't seem like the community is exploiting it like the elitists at D2R. I think trading just ruins these types of games and gives an unfair advantage to the rich.
Did you make your account name just for this post? One can clearly play with madness. Watch me: perhaps you should post this thread on poeJSP.com
Just in case you want a real answer: Some people just really like the game. Others play d2r for the nostalgia, the chilled out mf runs (on console you can play leaning back!), the chance to make thousands of fg if you find that one perfect rare item, camaraderie and playing with friends.
if you’re so worried about people buying their gear and g rushing through the game you should really try offline mode (hardcore offline mode is even better). There’s inverse lag. Just ID one item with a scroll and see if it doesn’t startle you with how fast it goes. Plus, you get static maps (unless you wanna roll em), can share items between characters and control the player counts. P8 tzones w/ solo killing XP, yes plz!
With all that being said…DAMN IT!…I do wonder about trying POE. LoL
