Okay, It's late here and I am a bit drunk but I feel like I'm going crazy. I'm doing a bit of quick maths to see what is actually good and by how much.


Full Tal Set with three 5/5 light facets does more damage than Griffons (Enigma+Hoto+Spirit+Arach) with chain lightning. 3% more damage in fact.

Lightning damage is a different story, Griffons gear does 10% more damage than Full Tal. But that is still pretty close!


I don't understand why everyone hasn't been doing this for the past 20 years, Full Tal + 3 Light Facets is the second best lightning sorc
by far and it's not even close. I have seen more Light Sorcs wearing a shako, A SHAKO, back in the day instead of this full tal setup.
It makes no sense.

I've thrown cold facets into tals, but more just cuz than testing any damage stuff.

And full tals w/ the 3x facets would have 5 less -% to enemy light resistance. It seems like a bad idea to me.

another problem with tal light sorc is the mana. double fcr rings are required so no soj to fix your mana pool

Fuck, you're right of course you need two fcr rings, I forgot that. My full tal numbers had 105 fcr so if I add two fcr rings the damage will drop slightly.

You brought up Eschuta's and man I hate that item, It's great if you happen to find a close to perfect one but you'll have resistance issues with it unless you run CoH. Can't do that because you need the MF from enigma.

As for Crescent moon how do you even run that on a light sorc? What does your fcr look like. It's good for ES or Nova sorc

But my argument isnt that Tal is godly, it's that it's enough for pvm, it gives more res and more mf than griffon + hoto + enigma. And it's a lot cheaper.
Full tal + 3 facets should be the most popular build until you find all the unattainable botted stuff. The facets don't even need to be 5/-5, they can total to -13 and it's still very good. Similarly it's unlikely you will ever find a perfect Griffon's.
(Btw with two sojs on Full tal and 105 fcr, the dmg gap closes even more.)

To finish, yes I run infinity and no conviction is not in those numbers. (DMG would be higher on both here)

Self wield infinity is the way to go...I think

griffon, spirit, viper, arach, 10 fcr ring/7+ fcr amu = 117/120

griffon, spirit, viper, arach, mages = 130


cmoon is vastly superior to every other wep on a lightning sorc, barring a borderline impossible 6/6/20/2os orb. compare the dmg numbers between cmoon and eschuta/hoto vs any res mob on maxroll. it's not even close



on a nova yes but not on a lightning sorc. you have no need for meditation aura since you're not es and you need the fcr from spirit to reach 117.
