So i just have a question. Doing d2l, quest bugged nm diablo runs, hc, death sentry trap assassin. Going quite smoothly, almost feels like cheating.

In many ways, i call this method "the golden passage", where one character passes diablo on nightmare, aiming to do baalruns later, and the other does quest bugged diablo runs. This is where i expect to find many good gear pieces to get ready for hell mode. Also for other characters.

However, i've done about 25-30 runs now, and i realise that's not a lot. It is hc, so I must take it slower than usual. I have about 250% mf on gear in stash, which i swap to when diablo has about 10% hp left

But as far as now, i've gotten pretty lousy drops! Sometimes only 3 rares, sometimes 3 magic and 2 rares. Very little in the way of great items.

Only on the last drop tonight, i finally got something worthwhile, blackthorn's face, aldur's advance and angelic halo, and two other uniques.

Is the gear swap thing bugged? 99% of people in the past say it works. But has this changed lately?

It does work.
You sure you've bugged them correctly? Although I know that you know how to do it. But maybe something went wrong i.e. you were in a hurry
Edit: but you guessed it yourself... 25-30 runs is not an adequate sample

Yes, standard procedure, kill diablo with one character, make game, rejoin with the other that need quest.

Did about 20 more after this. Got some worthwhile upgrades, two guardian angels, one for me and one for merc. Puts max resistances up, those extra 15% from 75% to 90% actually makes a difference in survival in hc.

The blackthorn's face actually was a bit of a blessing and a great find, since it makes facing the burning souls a more manageable task, i will be using that myself, at leas when going down to the throne room. So there has been some okay drops. Just not as much as i thought i would find...

Soon, my level 44 assassin will be doing quest bugged baalruns, while my level 66 one will finish the quest to make it available. Then i will be doing more research. Probably 40-50 nm baalruns. Maybe it will be different with baal.
