(this is d2 LoD, not d2r).

I'm looking for the best one here.
Is rift better than doom(how is the cold damage on that one) ?
...Im not considering destruction because it has mainly fire damage spells...Too many fire immunes in hell. (Its to help a zealer).
I thnk that bonehew's bonespears are too weak, though, would it be much better with cold facets since there are rarely physical+cold immunes in hell?
Ebotd? Is the psn damage enough?

reapers does a pretty good job with this issue but the pally will lack insight when teleporting

if you do actually come across physical immune it just means that its a class weakness for the build. i would love for the barb or any melee character to have native amp damage by default, and any elemental char to have lower res and some charm to add conviction aura but its not happening. - you can use charges from a staff for lower res / and some items have amp charges. amp prop on rares is 5% and hard to find with good stats. you could use an act 1 with wrath bow

i would just attack my phy immune monster under decrepify and just use very high physical damage, another option is using an enchant sorc and that is very effective +6.6k damage.

I should have specified more what was the purpose of that weap i am looking for. :)
I am a zealer/1 pt smiter, and that was for ubers. Ofc, with life tap, no one wants decrep from a reapers toll merc ;)
...and i also know that isnt a big deal, becasue the merc will probably die anyway. But i taught, i might as well give him another weap...
And so, the last time i did ubers, i saw physical immunes lol. And yes, the 3 mofos were dead, but sometimes i like to clear the field a bit...It gives a chance to a crappy mule to get the torch or i just want to kill them.

For normal play, i always use a reapers merc, I dont have life tap myself..Thought sometime i wish i had it!! But thats another play style.
Reapers toll not only removes physical immunties of 95% of the mnsters, but it reduces the physical resitances of all of them.

finally, i dont play much with teleport. I have a nigma on mule, and i tried it, but i just dont feel it fits well with a zealer.
I used it a bit lately to farm d keys, and i find its nice to replace the merc mostly! Not to get there faster that much.
The merc will engage those damn vipers lol.. Its nice to remind him where is its place by a teleport :)

Almost forgot :) ... I made that rift thresher and its ok vs phy. immunes. , but not more. 4 to 5 hits to kill one in a 1 player game :( . (with fort and andys). ...fana, etc.

In conlusion, give that merc about anything else than reapers for ubers. Dont ask too mcuh of him lol.

I didnt want to talk about other mercs because its just too annoying to me to change it all.

if you dont want reapers because of the curse overlapping,
i recommend doom instead of rift
i mean.. holy freeze + ow on their own should beat rift imo

Ok, ty. I had looked at doom, but i taught i wouldnt be enough cold damage to be significant.
I hadnt seen open wounds though.
I got my hand on eth warpike... :)
I'm gonna try it now.

I tested eth viperfork (good psn damage, but i think it has to hit to be applied) whith holy freeze merc (lvl 89 , aura lvl 16). Bad :(
Doom has a lvl 12 aura but has -(40-60%) cold resistance wich would be better.
That maybe will be my last test.

Yeah, obedience is great for that. Until you said that, i was focusing on cold/magic damage, because usually
cold+physical immunes are rare in the game. But since its for ubers, thats different.
For the price, obedience is a great merc weapon.

This is probably the most useful in your case.
Doom's cold damage is crap.
If you really want to clear UT after the big uglies are down with your setup have 2x dream in your inventory or use them in the first place. It's doable anyway with dual dream but a lot slower because lack of cb from gullimans.
