Hey guys, new to the forums - I had to register because I've found a Torch of Iro in Nightmare and it made me wonder if that's a bug?
I'm playing a hc Bonernecro, installed the game using my original diablo 2 and LOD cd's, official patch 1.14d downloaded from blizzard, and Plugy from the official website.
I've played single player LOD since the release, and this is the first time I have found this unique wand lol.

the item is quite rare, but it is a legit item

I didn't know the item until it dropped and when I googled it, as of my understanding it only drops in act 1 normal? Maybe I'm mistaken.

Here's what I've found on Diablo Wiki;
"Torch of Iro is a unique Wand from Diablo II.

With a boost to Energy, Mana regeneration, and Necromancer skill levels, the Torch of Iro is useful for low level Necromancers, but is lackluster past the early game.

As it is a Treasure Class 3 item, it may only be found in Normal Act I. Its high uqlvl make it a very rare drop."

This is the reason why I'm so confused about finding one in Act 1 Nightmare, anyway the wand's Ilvl is 40 which you can see in my original post.

Anyway the wand is a nice find, just for the rarity of the item itself. I will keep it in my stash as a fond memory of many happy hours of fun gameplay.

no any item can drop in tc 85, what you said is only true to the very highest treasure classes in that you will never find a coa in norm or nm but only in tc 85 areas or you will not be limited to only finding low level items in low treasure class areas


what is the op is seeing is item level (ilvl) and thats a hidden attribute, so the item dropped in a tc 40 area and that is written to the item itself. another good way of using item ilevel is rolling ilvl 99 baal charms. the charm might be level 1 but its ilvl 99 same example
