is it worth to go over (or under) -100 res with a cold sorc?
it feels smooth with the non immuns already, and the ex immuns have around 0 res with -100 right?
is there a significant difference if i use lvl 17 or lvl 35 cold mastery?
if i go max mastery that also means i have less dam since i have put those nice skillpoints to mastery
where is the sweet point between dam and -res

Iirc there's some yt videos that go over it but I believe it is level 18 cold mastery is all you need, anything higher is useless. Search it up first but I remember this from somewhere

This question comes up from time to time. Heres my two cents:

Yes greater than -100res will have no further effect on monsters which have no natural cold resist, since -100 is the floor for resistance on monsters. However, many monsters in hell mode have more than 0 cold res, especially bosses. So depending what areas and/or monsters you intend to be fighting against, your ideal -res might be higher than 100.

If you're generally running act bosses, heres a list of base cold res in hell mode:
Andariel - 66
Duriel - 95
Mephisto - 75
Diablo - 50
Baal - 50

I would look up resistances of monsters in the areas you intend to clear mobs (if any) and if you intend to mostly run bosses go for -150 cold res for max damage on those. Gl

depends if you are playing D2R or D2L

for D2L i like to go around -100 to -150 (to deal max dmg vs monsters with cold res inbetween 0 and 50)
for D2R you want to max cold mastery since it only works at 1/5 effectiveness vs sundered monsters
