nova is trash when starting and here is why
the bad:
nova eats A TON OF MANA per cast - this is fatal
nova is fcr based - your starter gear is trash
nova is gear based
the good:
nova takes very little skills to make 20 nova 20 light mastery so you can make a hybrid
nova is light based and one of the few skills that has high min damage
nova also has very good area of effect
nova is fcr based
nova requires high end gear to reach high damage, if you can get nova with high enough damage you might as well make a standard light sorc
the standard vita fb sorc is the standard stater for any pro vet player that knows there stuff. fire ball and fire bolt have low mana, fcr based and has 3 yards area of effect (fb). the attack is also directional and ranged so this is great for crowd control. the entire point is leveling just to 24 using vita fb and switching to vita blizzard. in the days before tokens and skill resets you could: enchant level and save points, use any bow + bow merc and save points but your level was soooo slow, trist runs and use a bow, grush to hell and do chaos runs on a level 1 and dont spend points. the classic saying or put down back in the day was your char is fucking trash better go "remake" lol now you just say well your having a hard time maybe you could use a token
