i just found a eth poleaxe in worldstone keep lvl3 NORMAL difficulty

since it is a perf base (15/15) I thought it can be a nice base for eth infinity or insight, but...

if I use larzuk quest on it, will it get 4os or 5os? not sure about this

can anyone help me before I waste a socket quest? xD

thank you jspeers!

First rule: In normal, itemlevel = Monsterlevel. In nm and hell, itemlevel = Area level.

So if you play in normal, you must know and check the level of the monster the item dropped from.

If you play nm or hell, you must know and check the area level of the monster the item dropped from.

Then you can check this list to see how many max sockets the item can get. Larzuk always gives the max number of sockets. Socket quest gives -up to- the maximum number of sockets, but let's say an item can get 6 max sockets, but it is limited by the level it was found to get 4 sockets. Now it has 3/6 chances to get 1-3 sockets, and 3/6 chances to get 4 sockets. So using the cube recipe needs a clear understanding of an item's max possible sockets, and the level of the monster or the area it was found.

So you should know the monster that dropped the item, or at least check the monster levels in the area you found it - wsk lvl 3 normal. If they are all level 41 or above, it will get 5 sockets from larzuk. In that case, it might be worth it just to gamble on a cube recipe and hope for 4 sockets.

yeeeeeeeess this is exactly the information I needed! thanks a bunch:D

I know the basics: that larzuk will always give maximum amount of sockets possible; also that the Ilvl depends on the difficulty and monster that dropped the item; and that some items can have more or less sockets depending on Ilvl etc etc...

but I always struggle when it comes to normal monsters and items: I forget their Ilvl etc

now, since this item is sup, it can no longer be "cube-reciped" and I know that in higher difficulties a poleaxe can have a maximum of five sockets. I was hoping that in normal difficulty it only had 4os max, so I can roll insight or infinity on it

I just checked and poleaxes will have 3os max at Ilvl 1-25; 4os max at Ilvl 26-40; and 5os Ilvl 41+, and wsk lvl3 is lvl42... so it will get 5os... if only this had been dropped in lvl2 lol

again ty so much for taking the time to answer me :hail:

Most of it was a template ^^ But yes, it gets tricky at later act 5. Best not to take the chance if you're ucertain.
