my smiter rapes ubers, just felt like having a merc assist for the hell of it.

mercs tend to die very fast. there just too few item slots available to give them high dr and high res and high physical dmg to sustain themselves

if you try, i guess high dr/high fr is the way to go. maybe frenzy barb with grief/last wish phaseblade, eth upped shaftstop 'Ber' and guillaumes 'Cham'? would give might aura for more ed, another source of life tap, direct dmg from grief as well as cb from last wish and helm and profit from your fana aura for both attack speed and dmg/ar. but ar from merc might be a general problem you have to solve...
