is your keyboard plugged in?

I think it is some kind of soft ban. Happens if there is cursing or if the auto detection system think you are an ad bot.

If you must communicate with someone on screen in game, you can type ! in front of the message, then the message will appear over your character's head.

Did you try alt f4 or alt tab?

Better yet, install D2R!
