its simple, stop making it so complicated.
Well, life
is complicated but let's keep it simple - so you're just a jealous?

People hate bots because it ruins the economy for people who wish to play the game legit.
Not at all. First: some - but far from all - ppl hate bots. Second: bots are ruining the economy for you only if you're trying to make a punch of fg by selling your legit found stuff. Bots are not ruining the economy at all for the botters (ofc) and legit players who're just looking for the cheap stuff. Most botters are not doing that for profit, they just don't want to/can't pay for overpriced stuff and they don't have the time for the boring and aimless boss runs over and over again.

Imagine you were toiling all day at the mines to get 3 nuggets of coal to sell for your income. And when you get there some asshat shows up with a truckload of coal with a machine found for him while he took a nap.
Those machines are a pretty good news for the ppl who don't want to sell their family to pay you for those 3 nuggets of coal.
You made a pretty interesting comparision actually - there were ppl called "luddists" in 19th century England who tried to destroy all the machines they blamed for leaving them without work. One can feel sympathy for them, but their movement was doomed from the start. Just like Blizzard's fight againts the bots in the current circumstances where mf-ing and lvl-ing are boring and unchallenging like working at the assembly line.
That was my point, complicated or not - in order to get loose of bots Blizzard has to change those circumstances by making mf-ing and lvl-ing fun again. Casual botters will start to play the game again and botters who're doing it for profit can't sell their stuff as ppl prefer to mf themselves. Until then - feel free to rage againts the bots, it doesn't change anything.
