And? I started working under the table at 12...and making more than most HS and college students.

I plan on being a painter and going to trade school, so yeah, i cant start working now.

Paint some old peoples homes for cash.

Apparently you think you know shit about something you know absolutely nothing about.

The paint business is hurting at the moment.
People are too afraid right now with the economy, and painting their house isn't a necessity.
And, paint has risen in price quite a bit in the last few years.
The cost of buying paint and paying someone is just too much for most people, right now.

Plus...I don't imagine Joe being a good painter (yet, at least); so people would probably pick someone with more experience (and the price of painters have dropped since they are all looking for jobs).
Plus, it shouldn't be good for someone his age to be around all the VOCs in paint.
