We cant know they will, but its not unrealistic that diablo II will have some kind of content within the next year or two. Unlikely, some might say extremely unlikely, but not impossible. A new act, class, or whatever expansion-extensive looking content? that's however really, really far fetched, though, for sure.
But some world event like ubers, that kinda content = not impossible. would love to see a use for SoH's ^^
Also, theres plenty bug fixes that are urgent if they decide to clean the game up.
And, i dont think its out of question there might be some itemization adds. Least likely of what I still believe isn't totally naive to hope for, though.
Counter-cheating stuf is a must. it will be a hard task to get this game cleaned. to get it totally legit is impossible, ofcourse. But if duping is controlled (ideally fixed all together), and botting isnt possible without geting a certain ban, that is enough to have a really strong impact on the game.
