I have been playing d1, d2 since its out, I max enjoyed especially the 1.09 patch. Then right after came the 1.10, ladder items and also... enigma or so whatever runeword.
Pvp before enigma and all wasn't all about stuff, even crap stuffed you could leech on your opponent for example, you still could use your head and provide yourself some odd for survive.
There are too much overpowered runeword in lod from my point of view, as example, infinity, or even doom or the infamous grief, all you have to do is rushing your opponent and straight hit it. It was much harder before that.
So for answer the main question of this topic, I came back to classic after more than 10 years of lod because here skills are still skills, even if I say many kind of hacks (but its not so common nowadays so)^^ And the odd for getting a good stuff are really low (4-5hours mf/day during free time for get a good ornate and still nothing (started 3-4 months ago)^^). Ha and even with good one, especially in bvb, your opponent can still hit you. Try to duel a shield barbarian with a martel, if you play well, you still can get him in 2 wws
Classic is less stressful than LoD, more balanced. Ty cl^^ (ps, its not like I do not like lod anymore, but its too unbalanced).
