I feel both of these games are entirely different than D2, and it's like comparing apples to oranges. They're not the same. D2 is legendary and is/probably always will be my favorite game of all time, along with FF7.

What I liked about POE was the build diversity that D2 has rarely allowed for (at least until recently). I came late to the game and every time I've started play, I RIP too easily because I don't fully understand a lot of the mechanics.

What I liked about D3 was the challenge of Greater Rifts, especially at high tiers. I like the high risk/high reward of pushing yourself to a higher tier. What I didn't like is the frequency of drops that occurred. It was almost too easy to find good stuff.

anyway i'm thinking about trying out TES 2: Daggerfall (Unity version)

always really enjoyed Morrowind and of course Oblivion and Skyrim (though i prefer Morrowind of the 3) but never tried Daggerfall

anyone here play it before and have any tips or mods they recommend?

I guess the Unity version from the GOG store comes prepackaged with mods

Yeah I won't play a modded version of Diablo, never cared for median or w.e. if I'm gonna play d2 it'll be d2r.
Can't say on daggerfall, never heard of it etc, is it sp only?

yeah it's the 2nd elder scrolls game, it's from 1996.

apparently the playable area / game map is the size of the UK lol

pretty burnt out on d2 right now, it'll be nice to have a few days off of it for the holiday

Median isn't D2. That mod has gone so far off the rails, even when it was first introduced.

Project tries very hard to say super true to the original feel game. Like, even new zones stay true to the lore of D2 and they only use art assets that exist in the game already. You could honestly just play through without even looking up changes and enjoy the experience. It feels very natural.

D2R honestly feels like a bad attempt of trying to mimic Project without trying to be too obvious about it, but with a super shiny coat of graphics (those d2r graphics are really top notch); however, Project has the graphics upscaled to look cleaner. It isn't anywhere near as bad as the OG graphics. Honesty, some of the item graphics in D2R look...childish (lack of a better word)? D2R is missing so much even in terms of quality of life changes.

If you like D2...you really owe it to yourself to try out Project.

holy shit thats old no wonder i never heard of it. i have a weird take on open world games, they are hard for me to stick around and finish.
im also takin a break from d2. idk if ill play again this season
