MORHOLT
bro are you still fuckin shredded
Oh hai!
Nah, being like that is like a full time job, haha. But I'm still in good shape, exercising/lifting/running/healthy eating. Having a grown up job is soul-crushing.

Even though I'm not playing this season, I'm already thinking about the season 3 race and making a serious push for #1 with the guys. I really think we can beat Llama based off of this reset - we just need to practice the initial walkthrough and get that down, and we'd have a serious shot.
I don't want to be a dream-smasher, but...got that grown up job (lol), so I guess I'll try to put it lightly.
First:
Fast play throughs aren't as easy as the top of the speedrunning community makes it look.
When we see newer practiced groups complete an 8man lvl1 to Hell Baal Q in 4 hours, we're proud of that milestone. Under 3 hours. Very good work. 2.5 hours, awesome. Sub 2 hours, sick (generally speaking, only combinations of the top speedrunners ever get this time...and they do it consistently nowadays).
For reference, during the launch of Season 1, Blizzard hosted an event called "The Infernal Race." It featured a team of NA speedrunners, EU speedrunners, and a Korean team. The Korean team was of solid pro-gamers. They spent months trying to copying/practicing the speedrunning strategies. It took a while for them to get under 3 hours. Eventually, their best time was about 2.5 hours. That's an eternity compared to a sub 1:45 time. The top speedrunning group has gotten from lvl 1 to farming keys and killing uber trist in about 2 hours 40 minutes.
Don't expect to be able to get a faster start than the group Llama resets with.
Second:
Llama has a huge viewer base from his streams. And a lot of..."worshippers?" (lol) for a lack of a better word. This results in once he's lvl 91+, he can solo P8 terror zones non-stop. He has an army of people willing to follow him from game to game. It's basically impossible to compete with that. The exp of solo in a P8 game is insane compared to splitting it with others in the game.
Third:
Llama's 1-99 time from S2 is unlikely to be beaten, unless he or one of the other heavily followed speedrunning streamers (there aren't many...) simply sleep even less to play. But not only is there the factor of "sleeping less," but there is also the issue of gearing. The S2 1-99 time was set with the help of the glitched find item drop rate of sunder charms on the first day. He was a cold sorc with a sunder charm within what...4 hours of reset? And not just that...but the whole group he was playing with had one, too. Resulting in him and all teammates melting mobs sooner than anyone can expect to in any future seasons. And not just that, but we let him have the first sorc torch found--another big early damage/stat advantage over other players. Expecting to have the first sorc torch of the season isn't realistic.
There is GOOD news, though...all the top speedrunning times on HC are set by, well...the same guys from over on softcore. And those guys like to primarily play ladder resets on Softcore, and then some play around on HC a couple weeks later. There really aren't that many 'good' (relatively speaking) speedrunners that start on hardcore. DarkHumility/RussiaBank and the few other popular HC streamers don't have anywhere near the audience that Llama does for exp, nor high-skilled friends/allies for starts/gearing, so you could make a realistic run at the first HC 99 on season 3.
