I'd go with Stormlash, as it's my favorite weapon by far

If you're high level and rich, you might be able to hit often enough with high AR (from rings/small charms) that zeal out performs smite? Zeal gets > 5 attacks per second and Smite is capped at 4. Assuming no misses (unrealistic), 5% ctc amp should take ~4 seconds to proc.

Or if you want a tiny bit more effort, replace one of your small charms with an atma's scarab in your backpack. Raises ctc to ~9% almost halving the time it takes to proc.

I love amp, wish it was easier to find though.

Edit: if you're swapping anyways, hammer/foh on one side and physical on the other... purely for Baal, a Cranium Basher could do the trick.

That's interesting take, never thought about using zeal instead of smite.

The assumption is that if zeal hits well enough, then definitely it's better dps.

Two things to consider. Zeal is capped at 95% hit rate while smite is 100%.
And also Baal can block zeal while he can't block smite.

But pure attack speed is just so much better with zeal and also it has better potential dealing with normal mobs.

I should take a look into this.

I also love Amp, it boosts any physical damage beyond what people think it does

I like Reaper's Toll. Does Smite work with Decrepify? If so, I'd definitely go with Stormlash and Reaper's Toll on merc

As for Zeal, you guys got enough AR on Hammerdin?
