Let me add the following personal thoughts and opinions about this situation:
1st point, "Pay to Win" item:
This tournament was going smooth with no problem, until Chips456 decided to ruin it by bringing a $120-bought-from-a-site weapon for the final. This is what is known in gaming as "pay to win" items. It is true that there were no RULES against such items, but how the hell were we supposed to know/guess someone was going to be dumb enough to pay $120 to buy an item THAT IS DESIGNED from a site (and not actually created in the game by the normal game mechanics). These hybrid items were only created to make some extra profit from this game. These hybrid items CANNOT be created or found normally. I know some people bring the argument about duped jewels, but at least for these duped jewels the original had to be FOUND for dupes to exist. Yeah, it would have been better if there were no dupes, but they do exist and we have learned to accept their existence, because EVERYONE can acquire them. But hybrids aka "pay to win" items aren't at everyone's disposal. You need to PAY a big amount of REAL MONEY to get these and this basically ruins the fun, because there is nothing more hated in gaming than "pay to win".
2nd point, Chips456 had the final on his hands and fucked it up:
Chips456 built a strong barbarian that in my opinion would have had beaten WhiskeyRunz' barb in a fair final. I was (and I am still) cheering for Whiskey, but I knew the style (concentration) and the charms/gear Chips456 had, would have owned WhiskeyRunz WWer, or at least, in my opinion, Chips456 had 75% chances to win the final. So, was it really necessary to fuck everything up by bringing a "pay to win" weapon into the final?. NO... a big NO. Which brings me to the next point.
3rd point, HC East always finds a way to fuck up tournaments:
Everytime a tournament is planned on HC East, something always goes wrong. Its like a fucking Old Wild West and the reason I didnt want to run tournaments on East. Because I tried before and they always end up being fucked up one way or another.
4th point, rules were kept intact and DQs made sense:
Dont bring the excuse that "Whiskey changed the rules into his favor". No rule was changed to nobody's favor. The rules were clear and set at the very beginning. Also only 2 people got DQ'ed and these were FTW5 (because he never made a dueler) and lindseysmith (because he also didnt make a dueler). So? how can they not get DQ?. Does it make sense to keep people in the tournament who didnt make any dueler? lol. Then, in the final Chips456 was told to bring a normal weapon (not a "pay to win" weapon) and he just left the game. So, right after he left the game I DQ'ed him. I also thought he used a hybrid against me, but then I went and checked the recorded duel and realized he went legit vs me, thats why I decided to give him a second chance and let him duel the final vs Whiskey as long as he used a normal weapon (not a "pay to win" weapon).
In conclusion:
This is not my tournament, but we have to be fair and objective when we discuss. The tournament was going smooth with no problem until Chips456 decided to bring a "pay to win" item, which was not a smart move because from my experience, Chips456 had 75% chances to win that final. So all these cries about Whiskey changing the rules are none other than BS, because NO RULES WERE CHANGED, but we have to use the logic and be smart, and understand that nobody would have guessed that someone was going to be lame enough to bring a "pay to win" item into the tournament. It has never happened before. Now, if people want to make new tournaments allowing "pay to win" items, then go ahead, host your tournaments and allow them and good luck getting more than 1 or 2 duelers in it, because nobody is going to waste $120 or more on "pay to win" items for a HC tournament.
PS1: Too long didnt read comments, IDGAF. Just wanted to express my point of view. If you are a lazy loser who cant read is not my fault. Go blame yourself for being lazy.
PS2: My congratulations to WhiskeyRunz for hosting a tournament and staying legit all the way to the end and winning all of his matches. For me, you are the true champion of that tournament.
