My opinion on why I prefer classic over LoD

I'll only be addressing HLD, not LLD, PvM, or anything else.

1. Enigma - Every dueler pking with the effect of "Tele Spam Tele Spam Tele Spam Tele Spam Tele Spam Tele Spam" isn't my cup of tea, it's f*%$in monotonous and boring.
2. Call to Arms - Barbs are a dominant build in classic for a reason, blizz s%$& all over barbs in general when they patched this in. Hammerdins were bad enough when they could synch, but now they have the option to tele AND bo too? F&%$ that.
3. The existence of Absorb gear. This is the end-all for me, it's the #1 reason why I've stopped playing xpac HLD altogether. Can't legitimately beat that trapper? Throw some Wisps on... horses%$&.
4. The existence of expensive and over-powered charms and jewels - Adding moreso to the effect of "Pay more - win more".
5. The existence of far over-powered runewords in general. - Adding moreso to the effect of "Cookie-Cutter domination".

One more thing... on classic, you can get away with a poor mans build in pvp so long as you're pro at whatever build you're using. For instance, I can get on my classic NL barb that's using sigons, rattlecage, angelics, goblin toes/30% frw 2x 2x boots, 141 Battle Hammer, Bonesnap, and a 258 def 30/20 Grim shield, and fucking smack kids around that spent well over 2k FG on their characters because I am that god damn good at using a barb lol.

On expansion... it can't be done. My barb costs less than 50 FG... you can't build a char on expansion for 50 FG and have it do even remotely well in pvp.

Help me ask they why play HC. I ask and they give more stupid idea than you class mod player who waste life on stupid game mod

Hardcore is fun to an extent, but I do think it's overrated. I just don't like the idea of a lagspike [Everyone gets these, idc if you're running wireless BB or turbo speed, lagspikes happen] killing a character that I invested unmeasurable hours into. It just makes me feel like all my work was in vain. I know that you should Esc-S&E as soon as you lag, but even that doesn't always work. It's like using a condom, eventually one is going to break and you're going to be fucked.

Then there is fact that PvP is why I play D2. If I couldn't PvP, I wouldn't play D2... on hardcore, you're a fool if you constantly gamble your characters life by dueling on a daily basis. That's not fun for me. Doing PvM for hours on end just to say say "Yayyy look how high level I can be without dying" just doesn't do it for me, but I could see how some could like doing that.
