I chose assassin for the poll. I have never started with a sin, yet felt it important to choose a sin solely for this poll.

Recently started a hardcore sin on single player with players 8 and I'd say it's pretty solid! Got to hell within 36 hours (because p8 and HC obviously), now level 90 with ~1800 life and even feels safe to get keys at Nihlathak. Can also do ubers on a budget.
All you need is two spirits (in a long sword), lore, +trap ammy.
A combo of Sigon gloves + belt / boots or IK gloves + belt/boots for the Ias% bonus.
Random rings, any life and resist charms you find on the way.

For the strategy, cast Shadow Master, a few Mindblasts to keep your enemies distracted, traps, lower resist, Light Sentry and 1 death sentry.
You're always safe and far from your enemy, nothing safer except a summoner, but the sin kills much faster.
If your merc dies too often, bug it at Inner Cloister so monsters don't aim it anymore. Ranged attackers still will shoot at it, but you can use Cloak of shadows to blind them.

You just said you had a problem teleporting.

Now you bitch about damage.

Bruh, it's new ladder your damage is already shit. Five points into teleport is not going to make or break one of the strongest skills in the game.

I am saying sorc isn't the best option as a first character in fresh ladder because of its limitation with no gear.

It is a great SECOND character as soon as you get your starter gears.

What do you recommend for starter character? I'm doing warcry barb for new ladder with my hardcore homies. He will kill pindleskin fast enough.

• usually always play sorc, its getting boring
  
• not in our party yet, i like being the only one of a charclass in the party - so you really depend on me for certain things
  
• should be strong
  
• ut with cheap budget should also be possible

And dual spirits are insane @ such low levels.

if picking teleport wasn't so necessary, I wanted to roll zon this ladder; buffs look really fun to level as bowa, and end game into jav cow farmer as usual
