no thats not possible to bypass, he just had a shorter temp ban then.
those 2 IPs are the only two login servers right now

ohh... here is what I think happened.
When they restarted the server all restrictions were reset (he had the restriction before)
And probably when the server went back up he was able to connect, thinking his solution solved the problem.

No other logic

usually when this happens and you had this " cdkey in use by me " issue , you get freed because blizzard kicks all accs offline
when they restart server / realms

as for the " checking versions " issue i don t know exactly what causes that to happen , maybe blizz has replaced some of their servers
thus their ips changed and some people had to manually empty their host files in order to get it work again for the " new " servers , just a theory ........

for me it happened because I was trying to reconnect many times

So I seem to not be temp banned, but it seems to be a Mac-specific issue. Also doesn‘t read like they stopped supporting Mac clients on purpose. If (and when) there will be a fix is still hard to predict though
