When you entered an old pub game and the ground wasn't covered with items did you just assume that someone grabbed every single item in the chaos sanctuary and sold it to charsi?

In some cases yes, keep in mind the idea of this post is to give you the exact amount of time until something disappears.
Yes it's true we all know items go "poof" after a certain amount of time but know you will know the exact amount of time you have before this happens.

I always leave my items on the ground before I leave the game :/

Some people do this when they are trying to xfer, and if you take to long your items will start to disappear :(

When I experience something for the first time, I usually assume that others don't know about it yet and feel the need to tell them

Certainly not my first time, but as mentioned before a friend of mine was xfering items and afterwards noticed his engima was gone and after searching here on jsp I couldn't find any helpful information so I thought I would share this here.

There are many resources out there other than jsp. I just typed "d2 items disappear on ground" into google and the first link that pops up contains the information you posted...

Lol, I ended up finding this info on battle.net. I tried google and had no luck, strange :(

Edit: Despite what everyone keeps saying, this certainly isn't common knowledge. Yes we know items disappear but you can recall each item and it's given time frame, not likely.

It is common knowledge.

And you can't have looked very hard on jsp either considering it's in the Diablo 2 discussion unified guides and resources sticky, and probably has been for quite some time.

People seem to be missing the point, yes we all know items will disappear, the point is how long it actually takes for the different types of items.

With that in mind if you can provide a link to the post your talking about from the sticky then I can stop bumping this. I wasn't able to find one/it.

Thank you very much!

Hi Stories;) I learned it in January 2018 if I remember correctly, playing multiplayer since year 2002, so maybe it is not that common knowledge, or either I was not skilled player :)

Yea, I knew items would disappear but I had no idea the time frames involved.

the real point is, if you had invested as much time into searching for the information you needed as you did typing your original post, you probably would have found it lmao

I'm guessing these types of "helpful" posts work toward gaining someone a trusted tag

Yeah it seems you get bonus points with the admins if your guides are actually useless or factually wrong

Like the minimod who posted you can check to see if an account is doubled regged by using the /mail command that helped thousands of people get scammed

Stories post another guide about how drinking potions gives you hp

Is this bnet only, or also TCP/IP? How about single-player?
