Nahhh that's not true mate^^ i have heard about non permed "mule" chars disappear, but i have found many expired chars already not gone as late as yesterday, so idk about that one

they get deleted if blizzard does a "purge"

For the fix only a reset is doing good

Had one lastest near a year -.-

This btw was on my char itself

Not the accnt

But it was damn stressing and facking weird after the reset that i could suddenly join games again

However i see a other bug long time

Seeing chars in channel on certain chars while they are infact ingame alrdy

I just used commen sense and went too CHannel plenty of times that year to make sure he wouldnt be in "expire" danger

I know blizzard servers have some lag issues these days
