Its about, 30-40 years old people were teenagers, 13-15 years old at 2000s when started Diablo2 mania.

So this game is in theyre lives for 23 years. They will play it probably till servers will be running and when servers will be down they will play it singleplay offline for nostalgy fun.
Its the game of theyre lives.

Its not about computer or what some posts said ROFL..
For example, from playing Diablo2 game and trade items in that game in d2jsp forums from 2010 i earned 200.000fg when i sold this old pixels in 2022^^
And i bought from this Diablo2 play in D2jsp RLT vs this Fgs Brand new Playstation5 and also Playstation4 pro ^^ also Playstation3 for nostalgy rofl..

And i ofc got Gaming notebook for years.. with Diablo2 and also Diablo2 Resurrected wich i bought either in d2jsp bnet section vs 3500fg in its release day^^ and i had Ps4 slim tho....

So Diablo2 game play in d2jsp = i bought from it "modern console and resurrected" ... So its really not about as was said people who play diablo2 dont have modern gaming systems or whatever...No true in 90% of the users.

10% are users who dont play any other games and got some really old notebook with Diablo2 installed there for decade of years, but those are barely called game players..
They are simple diablo2 players at max thats all ^^ and use notebook for some work or music or just for that d2 for yeaars yea...

So the answer is, people will be still play Diablo2 and dosent matter that there is D2r, D4 or will be D5..
Will play it till microsoft or others will allow to Run this old game in theyre computers hah

I will keep this one notebook that i got diablo2 game installed currently, with the current windows version that i will not upgrade so i can play all old games in there. It also has Dvd/Cd rom as really one of last gaming notebooks that were made few years ago with Dvd rom heh because i got many great old original Cd games from my childhood.

(New notebooks got no Dvd rom but can be bought external one connected through usb tho)

they are hoping blizzard will move their D2 LoD characters into the D2R servers one day!

There are different reasons depending on what you play Diablo for. Here's just two examples

FPK players don't like D2R because of what Blizz did with FHR, making PVP feel more clunky and the mechanics are not the same (it's pretty widely agreed upon that the FHR mechanics in LoD are superior to what is currently happening in D2R)
GM melee players don't like not having 40ias/300ed/fools/2os ereps and 37x 3/20/20s and 30/60/9/9 jewels, etc

the entire fpk community from the priv realms and closed realms resides on d2r already

You can't beat a classic. Thank God people still play LOD. Its honestly still better than d2r. D2r is just kinda more convenient some quality of life stuff. The graphics might be "better" in d2r vs LOD but legacy still has more charm imo. All those NL guys got all the gg 08 valks and valors with the gg bugged rares, b tals, hybrid runeword stuff still exists on LOD. which is so cool if you own those after all these years.
