Half the people writting in this topic are either under 10 or have no understanding how the world works. D2 is a dead game. Blizzard doesn t make money with this game lol. Haven t in a long time. This game is kept alive because it still has a strong small community but foremost because:
1. Brand identity - you don t wanna kill OG hack & slash, that would hurt the company image and costs you nothing 2 maintain
2. Compared 2 nowadays software D2 needs little to nothing technology. Servers for D2 are literally what some of us have in our garage.... cost most to nothing to maintain for Blizzard/Activision
3. Business wise it mames no sense to do a D2 remaster unless they wanted to move it to bnet app, for which they d have to change some things but probably not graphics. Unless they know D4 doesn t come out earlier than 2 years. But I think that was supposed to be D Immortal s job to keep us busy.
4. There are rumors that the classic games are where some of the junior devs/ junior employees get some of their initiation and starting experience
Together with point 3 and 4 it might be that some juniors are currently playing with the D2 servers.
You guys need to start enjoying life and be happy about rhe fact this game is still up and running, that we had a D3 which wasn t perfect but wasn t shit and that we'll have a D4. Look now to each their own but the faster you will accept the world and everything in it changes and evolves now faster than eve, the better you will be to accept and adapt to these changes and enjoy what you have or find something else to put yur energy in.
