At the start of ladder you can't teleport non stop. You will use up your mana potion before reaching destination. FRW skills (like charge+vigor) with a teleport charged staff which can easily be bought in normal in baal run rooms can match if not out speed a teleporting sorc early on.
Also there are a lot of farming location that don't require teleport.

If you are going to farm andy/meph early on, then sorc is a good choice. But it's not the only choice.

Javazon at ladder start, for example, is much, much better if you farm nm/hell cows at ladder start like i do.

Sorc is also very squishie without SOME budget gears which makes it inoptimize for HC.

This is a poor argument. Mana pots are practically as cheap as dirt and can be spammed. I've played sorc every ladder reset for the past 20 years. All you need is a full 4 slot belt to fill it up once every 2 andy/meph runs and get a spirit sword + stealth + 2 garbage fcr rings and you've hit the 63 fcr breakpoint. It will go smooth after that. Only thing that can happen is that you can teleport into a pile of dolls or something dirty, get stunlocked and then die; which rarely happens.



It will never match or out speed a teleporting sorc. Pally's fcr breakpoints are godawful, especially if you're using a teleport staff and not taking advantage of the brokenass free spirit shield with extra resistances you get at the start. Not to mention having to pay the gold fees after every run or running out of charges and having to go to town to repair them, Massive ass cancer if you ask me.



Only farming locations that don't require teleport at the start are Hell Cows, Nihlathak, Travincal, Chaos. Which you need slightly half decent gear to do them efficiently. Unless you want to do Pindle/Eld/Shenk nonstop, which is painfully boring after about 10 runs.



It's the most efficient choice for the first 2 days.



Nm cows is a waste of time. Only thing that makes cows good is doing them in hell so you can sell white monarchs/socketables to people and the chances of getting high runes. Even then, doing them on higher players is a lot better, which you need slightly better gear to do. 1 Player cows is godawful imo.



Large majority of the people play softcore, this is what were talking about here.

Put five or ten points into teleport and the mana issues disappear. It's not like you won't respec later anyways.

You are not gonna spam the teleport charge. You move with vigor/charge most of the time and use the tele charge just to get across walls. A teleporting sorc isn't much faster except for some narrow areas (like maggot lairs). if you shop your teleport staff early and get a low level one, it's pretty cheap to repair.
yea if you can get starter gears, any class can go smooth. My point is that as the first character at ladder start you have no item and sorc isn't the best choice for everything.

You are not gonna farm lv85 area right away. It will take forever even in a 1player private room and the drops will be awful. Farming nm quickly for starter gears is a better choice. Not to mention you gotta start all over again if you over risk it and die. If you play scrubcore it doesn't matter I guess.....teleport all you want because there is next to no consequence in dying except for some inconvenience.

Trapsin, frenzy barb, paladins etc can move quickly. They are all tankier than sorc and vital in not having to start at level 1 again with a simple mistake. As long as you are not farming andy/meph and to some extent baal, they are not much behind in terms of speed before you get enough FCR and mana on your sorc.




heh? You need bases for the runewords. NM cows is a good farming location from 40-50 or even 60.



Can't really care less with softcore of course you can go all energy and teleport all day if you want. just leave room and rejoin if you die.

You can start doing Ancient Tunnels at lvl 70 on a blizzard sorc with dogshit gear on player 5 and it will go decently fast.

Farming in NM is a waste of time unless you're absolutely stuck and need gear or something, which will never happen unless you're new to the game.



All you need is a white crystal sword/broad/long from normal cows to get your spirit sword going, which can be found in 1-2 runs. You will find a 2os armor from charsi or a act 1 trash mob for the stealth. You dont need anything else until hell.

Like I said, farming NM is a complete waste of time, why do NM when you can do hell and get a chance at white monarchs/elite insight bases and big drops like ber/jah. Even stuff like Tals arm/Shako/Arach will drop from hell cows. It's mind boggling that you think doing NM cows is good.



Nobody puts energy in their sorcs unless theyre going ES build. Most sorcs go vita for pvm.



Good for you bud, you can play whatever you want. It's just an objective fact that most players will be on softcore, so most of these things people are planning out will be based on softcore.
