you sure you removed the line?

just remove all lines in the host fiile which have any battle.net at the end

this thing works

go to c/windows/system32/drivers/..find hosts file and remove the line with 5.42.181.18 europe.battle.net
i just did it it worked immediately.

i didn't explain it well.
I didn't have the line to begin with. When servers went down, I got temp banned. Same thing happened to a friend of mine.
He went and added the line in the hosts file and he bypassed the checking version issue.
When I added it I am stuck on Connecting to faster server.

Why does it work for him and not for me? I must be missing something

and yes, windows pc

this ip from the post is the old login servers, so you have to remove it

3.66.69.82 europe.battle.net
3.67.127.214 europe.battle.net

you can add one of those two, but basically you dont need to add any of them.
Just try it again without, it should work if you are on windows.

Gotcha. Yes If I remove the line if does work, however I am stuck on checking version, which means I am temp banned. Asked blizz they said yes for 2 weeks.
A friend of mine added the old login and he bypassed it. Very very strange.

now I tried with the ips that you provided and it does work indeed, however checking version.
Where can I find all the ips of the servers? Maybe I can bypass it

that is key and ip restriction for 2 weeks, tested and confirmed by blizzard support team.
The reason was that I attempted to reconnect while the server was recovering.

One of my friends had same situation and was able to bypass it somehow adding this line. STRANGE!

Must have been a bad proxy I was using and forgot to turn off. RIP
