It would have been late 90s or early 00s. I can't remember. I actually didn't start playing until 1.09 rolled around. 07/08 were more like beta periods.. or at least 1.07 was. The items were similar in 08 and 07 and 1.09 changed the game massively.

07 had some juicy charms like 20+ max damage.. small charms with 15-20 max damage and other mods sometimes. Crazy resist with max damage or life/all res.

I bought both d2 and the xpac when they both released. But i didnt really start playing a lot until the era of the bowzon when everyone in the moor would fight around the corner of the walls

I remember having a shitty pike barb before xpac came out and i couldnt get past the outer steppes

1.09 was definitely the day the bowzons reigned queen. It was practically just bowzon w/ jab on switch, ww baba and sorceresses. My hydra/thunderstorm sorc with a lot of 1.07/8 gear was my favorite char ever. Could throw down hydras around me and tank barbs lol. Most people used frozen orb mixed with firewall or nova and thunderstorm. No synergies back then, so going dual element was the way you went with lots of extra skills to place. Even tri element was common enough.

There was also a community devoted to legit paladin zeal dualing.

Diablo II first hit the shelves on 29 June 2000, and v1.07 (with Diablo II: Lord of Destruction) followed on 29 June 2001, a year to the day later.

Patch 1.08 was released on 29 June 2001, and Patch 1.09 deployed a couple months later (20 August 2001).

This bro knows what is up. I didn't know if anyone was on this forum from there. I wanted the people here, most of whom know nothing about things like this, to get a glance of how things used to be.

This forum is toxic, to say the least, so I knew it would come with mixed remarks. But I wanted the cool people here to get a glimpse of the coolness of the old days.

I was beginning to think nobody from there was going to run across it. Glad you did Mizzou :)

I felt bad not asking for permition and sharing it.. but I clearly made it known it wasn't mine and wasn't going to take credit for it and I didn't know if anyone frequented over here.

There are a few of us on here but not too many. I wish we could post links to that other forum but its against the rules unfortunately. There is a whole treasure trove of info on that forum that has been painstakingly collected that would definitely help people here but thems the rules unfortunately.

Right on. What I did wasn't bad mannered or viewed as malicious in anyway was it? Since it wasn't my item to share. I did it anonymously and didn't take credit as to not be a jerk and did it more for the enjoyment of people on here, getting a chance to see something most probably haven't before.

I had no idea the amount of people who frequent both. I figured a lot would have dual accounts, but that most wouldn't come across here often, as the other one is way less toxic and a lot nicer. I don't even come across here that much since I quit playing bnet. I just thought that item deserved to be seen by all sorts of D2 junkies.

I just felt sort of iffy about it after I did it, so I made sure to release myself of any credit for it lol.
