or do you literally connect to a different connection?

its been 7.5 days for me now

was server down for 6 days in june... just got it again.. was joining way too many games in a short stretch. i have three toons sitting in separate games. might have to kill every monster on the map.


has anyone with a week+ ban gotten a second ban/server down? if so, how long did the second ban last?

What is blizzard up to with all of this?
I've read the whole thread, trying to wrap my head around what is going on with this penalties. But I don't get it.
For science/collective knowledge I add what I experienced here.

Please note that I am a vanilla (legit) player since 2008 or so. No 3rd party mods, tools or hacks. No simulated connections/VPN. I even stopped using sand-boxie when 1.14 first hit due paranoia.
I use two computers in my home, to have two connections (selfmuling i.e.) - but this is explicitly in line with blizzard's ToS.

Where:
Account login screen.

When:
On wednesday night, 40-45hours ago.

Occurance:
I got this error when muling privately. I was connected with laptop and desktop in a private game. Laptop I was afk with, and it went to sleepmode --> dropped connection --> had the restriction upon re-logging.
I didn't get kicked from desktop immediately, but when I left game it kicked me of b.net, and got restricted aswell.

Restrictions:
Europe (East works)
Any account
Any cdkey (laptop/desktop)
Seems restricted to IP (I can connect by mobile hotspot)

"Server down" / "Game does not exist"

Where:
Game selection/in channel.
Europe

When:
Now-and-then.
Temporarily/short amount of time. (waiting 2-5 minutes, usually lets me create or join a game)

Occurance:
At random? I use a character, hop in/out of a few games for whatever reason (A trade, a meeting, a duel).
Possibly when I am going in/out of games repeatedly...

Restrictions:
I don't know yet if its tied to specific characters, or if it just happens here and there.
No character seem to be in this state for an extended period of time anyway.
It does not kick me of battle.net
Don't know if switching ip/cdkey affects it, as i didnt try (vanished by itself)

Additional info / my thoughts:
I previously got kicked/connection restricted for "afking" quite recently. That time it was just like usual, a short realm down of 10-30 minutes (don't remember exactly).
I also experienced some usual realm downs for in/out of mules too quickly, quite recently. Always <1 hour.
But now this, almost 48hours for afking... Is it because its "a repeated offense"?

Is this working as intended, or are blizzard fucking things up here and working/tweaking their new systems? I really don't see the point of giving a 48hour ban for afking...
Thanks to everyone who contributes their stats/issues, so we can all acquire knowledge of this system. I mean, I don't oppose penalizing cheaters/abusers (sorry boys, do what you want but I don't sympatize when you're banned). But this is a ridiculous way of doing it lol^^

Thanks for all of your input. I'm wondering about this as well since I spent 5 days of a fresh ladder temp banned. Missed out on a lot of good MFing time and leveling up. I'm thinking it's not exactly working as intended, but they did get rid of the spam bots and fixed almost all known dupe methods. Maybe next ladder they will patch this to work better.

Idk, I dont even have a new type of ban. Just the good ole realm restriction, but triggered in a new way 72hours now... this is stupid, what is legit play, worthy of not receiving oenalties, according to blizz atm?
