That last suggestion sounds like Uber Tristram and Hellfire Torch. Which, all in all, was also a terrible addition to the game once the novelty wore off.

how is it a terrible addition to the game? i understand it getting boring after a few runs, but it still fun if you haven't done them in a while.

im not saying add new charms btw im saying new items in general to farm in specific areas that are even tougher then uber portals. maybe some new items that can compete with gg runewords.

Firstly, Uber Tristram is has absolutely no lore behind it. The whole quest has absolutely no explanation in the lore, and feels more like an out-of-proportion Easter egg.

Secondly, torches are waaaaaaay too strong. If you want new content to be interesting, you need to reward players with food gear, and this inevitably leads to power creep.

The Annihilus update was already a bit silly for the same reasons, but at least spawning Uber Diablo uses really nice and unique mechanics.

I agree with the torch being way too strong.

Lore wise though I could care less. I dont mind the Easter egg approach as long as its fun and gives you more of a challenge for playing through all the acts. I mean cmon dont tell me you dislike the cow level also because it's in Easter egg lol?

The story is over it ended after baal its not like we need more lore especially from the current developers who had nothing to do with the original creator of the game David brevick. Its not like they are going to be able to add something creative to the game they constantly prove that they are incapable of that.

If they can actually add more fun things to do that are challenging I think that's what most people want out of the game not more lore lol

I did about 30 or so runs on the zones. The density does seem to stay the same for each of the difficulties.

Drops are slightly better but xp is great.

1 run on tower clearing each floor was about 500,000 xp on players one.

is xp from terror zones better than what you get from baal runs?

It really depends on the zone. Some are god awful but there are a few that are very good.

I love the idea. The grind to 99 is much easier, and in reality, modern games don't typically take as long to reach max level as 98-99 does so it definitely needed some work. It also opened up a whole new scene of 87+ areas. Some of the zones are bad, while others are amazing. I feel like the ones complaining are the ones who can't justify charging someone top dollar to level someone to 99 like before, or wanted loot filters or something else game changing. I've been running areas for maybe 6 hours total and I'm maybe 3/4ths of one bar in? It's definitely still a grind, and you only gain real experience in these zones, and there's times where I would skip zones (maggot lair, lower kurast, tight areas low density) and farm keys. Sure if you do the math, it only takes about 70 hours, but who is going to actually sit there and grind for 70 hours that aren't streamers or botters? That's a month+ worth of work for me. It's still very monotonous.
