Call it what you want sherlock if you want a working ingame trading sysyem some people will always try to profit. If this chance is denied you dont have a free trading system..

If d2 wouldn't have that it would be at least 1/3 less entertaining

i dont care about a good or bad "ingame trading system" or if the game would be "less entertaining"
without a good one. all that does not change the fact that sites like that are a cancer for d2
for the reason i mentioned. cancer is not necessarily bad, you know?

No. As this guy writes:

the in game trade screen trade system was a better idea than introducing a currency and a middleman
but the problem with the in game trade system is it requires you to be online at the same time as whoever you want to trade, reducing the availability of anything you might want to buy or sell
JSP fills these gaps by giving players the ability to communicate and trade, send & receive private messages
but it also adds a currency system that filters it from your pockets into theirs
and into the hands of greedy tradespawns who literally dont even play the game
random rant/10

To add to this; I think the ingame trading system works very well, it just adds to the suspense that you have to be online. That is how the game is intended to be played. If you have to buy forum gold to use sites like this to be able to enjoy the gameplay, you shouldn't be playing the game. Any attempt to try to justify this is just because people have monetary interests from this site. There is really nothing else to be said about it. That is also why i think so many people hate this site, because as i have identified, so many people are so incredibly toxic in here, which is how i believe they are keeping people away to defend their "territory", to keep making money flowing to their bank account from this site.

They give advice in the advice forums, and -ALWAYS- top-end gear choices that require high runes and expensive items, which then encourages newbies to buy fg. I am 100% certain that many of these toxic advice-givers make money on this insane behaviour.

This is why so many people from the outside of the site hate d2jsp. And it should be more publicly known.

Of course, if you start from 0 gold and don't buy fg, the fg itself just becomes a tool to measure more exact the value of every item, which is how i can see it can be a useful thing. But when someone has -monetary interests- from it, that's when the tool becomes corrupt.

Someone should start a site where every user has infinite amount of forum gold, then make a list that is continually updated, that states the value of every item in the game, that changes all the time based on all users' total conclusion of the value of the item. The forum gold should just be a tool to measure every item's true worth as closely as possible. Then that would be a great help to the game. Not to make someone rich.

This may be the stupidest thing I’ve ever read. How would any items have a value if everyone has infinite gold to buy said item. All this would do is make people find item vs item trades. Might as well make a site that shows value of items in high runes.

Right back at ya.

Did you really not understand my point, even after i explained it so extremely thoroughly?

Do you not see the stupidity of making prices in high runes? That means everyone has to farm high runes in order to buy Sigon's set. How stupid isn't that? Do you understand or not?

The point is, that the forum gold should just be a -means to an end-, not a -tool for corruption and personal gain-.

Yeah but you failed to explain how people would buy the items on this “new site with infinite forum gold”. Now let’s make an example if all items were valued in high runes. Say a low roll mp nigma is valued @ 5 high runes; someone wants to trade for it. So they could offer items that are worth 5 high runes for it. If all items were valued in high runes it would in no way force people to farm for just high runes since the items they are trying to barter with are also valued in high runes. The high runes valuing would be the most sensible way to value items in game if there was no such thing as jsp.

If u simply don't understand economics or d2 please leave it

Bots were always part of the game and so was offsite trading if on this than on another site, just like many other games

Jah = 50 fg
Ith = 1 fg
Ber = 40 fg
Archon plate 3s semi-high def = 15 fg

These prices are constantly fluctuating, not by a huge degree perhaps, but to the nearest extent that the conclusive value of the entire community deems them to be. Maybe a constantly open voting section is the solution.

The goal is to discourage hoarding and greed, and to encourage clean, fun and simple trading.

I think the solution would be a first come, first serve basis. Maybe have waiting lists for all items. There could be many solutions.

But it would also make it more encouraging for people to give up their gear when they are bored of the game. Today, most people just leave it on their accounts. With such a system, most people would have no trouble giving it to people that wanted it.

You sound like just another guy that makes money on the system and therefore downtalks people that points out these issues. So yes, there is really little point to discuss when money is your only value, isn't it? What about the respect for the people that put the time down to make this incredible game?

Don’t you ever grow tired of bitching about this game? If you get no enjoyment out of it, just stop playing. You use this site to trade too; don’t pretend you’re holier-than-thou when you profit from the system as well.

You always end up complaining about human nature and the very foundation of a capitalist system. The one true solution to your problems is to stop using the site.
