bump

it should also be noted for older players like myself, that items no longer show their item color before being identified (one of the 1.14 patches while i wasnt playing attention)

i always thought that's how it should be, but any change to a system will inevitably break someone's workflow.

sorry it's just MagicPrefix.txt and MagicSuffix.txt in d2exp.mpq/data/global/excel
i had just saved copies as ExpMagic to keep them apart from the older ones from d2data.mpq

They will be out date if you got them from here.

You should extract from patch_d2 to keep up to date with version changes.

How it works mate is that the files within patch_d2 take priority over d2data, d2exp etc etc

I guess if you installed your game directly to 1.14x your d2data would be up to date.

If you have had your game installed for a long time (since earlier patches) your core files (d2data etc) would be out of date.

When blizzard make changes to the game they update patch_d2. So if they wanted to change item modifiers they would update MagicPrefix and MagicSuffix and place the updated .bin files inside patch_d2.

Obviously the MagicPrefix and MagicSuffix would remain the same in d2data and thus be out of date.

Tldr if you have 1.14 installed directly without doing any patch updates your fine and up to date B)

The mods that give rares color haven't changed since 1.07 only the colors as they appear on characters in 1.10
