Wow thanks for the kind words everyone!

So yeah, bloody foothills is done. Pics tonight or tomorrow morning :)
From the frigid wp up to crystalline entrance will be done by the end of the week.
That should be one of the cooler areas to do aside from summit and throne.

Plus if I have time (mucho irl work these days) I'll upload a vid showing the different mechanics that are working in the world like waypoints, progression, tp tome, temperature and time of day.

;)

The colors available weren't quite like in the game but I think it still turned out pretty good!
If you keep walking you reach the shenk's spot. It's more of the same more or less.
We put invisible barriers around the pits and the side of the mountain, debating whether or not to add commands that kill the players when they fall into what should be a deadly pit or fall though.

Now on arreat plateau, about half of it is done. got some animated doors and stuff so that when you activate them they open and close.

edit : almost forgot to mention that they added functions to the newest version of minecraft and from what I've seen I will be able to add skills/effects and all sorts of mechanics that will be like in diablo.
Example, with custom loot tables and some command magic I could assign different skins to different damage values of diamond swords. Since there's 1000+ damage values on a diamond sword I could technically have 1000+ different unique sword arts and stats, which could all be in the loot tables dropping at different rates from any kind of monster. That and moving npcs and npc shops. And the coolest for me is that all of this is possible within vanilla minecraft, so you download the map, no addons or mods and it just works.

Yeah man, I even found a way to avoid the normal experience allocation and then counting the mob kills a player has, then giving them custom advancements depending on how many mobs they've killed. Which means I could put a 1:1 ratio of the xp from diablo. :D
So level 1-2 might be 10 kills, 2-3 might be twice the number. I have the tables from d2 somewhere so all I'd have to do is do some simple maths and give them a level up exactly at the same rate d2 would.
