I'm guessing the best we can hope for is diablo 2 launching from the bnet launcher and some miscellaneous bug fixes.

i have similar hardware (notebook i7 quad 2.2, intel 4000 hd) and no problems with d2, except the crappy fullscreen look (using window mode ofc). win 8.1 btw

and i hope they won't change too much ingame, cause they would make it worse for sure. just fixing some compatibility issues and doing maintenance would be just fine imo.

ι have windows 10 i cant fking understand why it lags like hell....

those lag spikes every 30 seconds i get 2 seconds freeze screen.. without ping changing.. that means its graphics problem...

Check if the game is using multiple cores from Task manager, if yes, uncheck it. Might help?

Try glidewrapper and come back with the results. It's a software issue, not a hardware issue.
There are people on this site who run 10+ copies of d2 at once on a craptop. If it were viable to run 10 bots on dialup people would have been doing it back in 2000 on machines a tenth as powerful as your phone.

Iirc it was suggested by a blizz rep on the forums as a workaround a year or two ago and to date nobody has ever been banned for it.

There are probably other fixes but that's the easiest and it works.

Funny, when the blizz hiring ad was originally posted the internet exploded, the gaming papers etc quoted it as likely a HD / atleast minor remake, and the community and players alike all agreed that this can't be a minor glitch fix for running d2 on modern OS's.
Now when the ad is removed, the sad pessimists has returned to default mode: "stop dreaming"?

Why would they go through the hassle of writing that ad if it was just for fixing d2 to run smoothly on windows 10...

I still believe, we will all find out eventually!
Here's to hoping we get some kind of easter egg and fixes, possibly better resolution, at the very least. Blizzard is losing out on a great opportunity to make a buck in case they don't, they must have seen the reaction of the community for just a tiny ad, so. Hopefully they'll charge like an expac for it, 15-35$ or whatever.
