If you wanna look at it that way, anything other than deleting or selling on jsp is probably going to have some amount of randomness. With my suggestion, the people have to "earn" it.

Hardly earning in the way they should be earned ^^

I want to quit diablo 2 but I want to do it in a satisfying manner. The suggestion I find best will be rewarded with all my fg.

The problem is that I don't know how to quit. I have quite the few items, a few very valuable, and I don't want them to just be deleted. Neither do I want to give them away to a rand.

Any suggestions are welcome but please avoid duplicates. I won't reveal which realm I play on so there is no point in begging. I would never give in to such methods.

Regards, Dino.

sell the items for FGs, come back when its d3 time and have those fgs rdy.

I still like the scavenger hunt :)
Must try it next time I'm giving junk away.
One fellow asked trivia questions, riddles or word definitions for item prizes, it was fun. Best of all it was memorable, and that's what you're going for eh?
People will always remember the scavenger hunt where they got Anni for a plain Quilted Armour :)

Good point.

I dont know....make a forum game.
Assign each item to a number ( keep them in your mind)
Let people pick numbers from 1 to x.
A lucky guy will get it.Simple as pie.

Edit : also a quiz can work :P

Excellent idea.

Make a quiz.

It's a nice suggestion but I already did that once and it wasn't much fun for me.

Go into a public game, say you will give away free gear. Wait 5 mins, go to gheed and sel it alll at gamble screen. Make a video and upload on youtube then post video here. GG

Interesting one too.

My decision right now is that this is the last bump of this thread. In a few hours or so, I will decide on either quicksand's or ante0's idea unless one I like better has been suggested.

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions so far.

I'm pretty serious. I want to quit, I don't have time for this game anymore. I've been playing since 2002 and have yet to have a character expire. There just doesn't seem to be any good way to finish this.

How about selling your "valuable" stuff and keep fg for yourself for when you'll need them (for Diablo 3, for example), as every quitters did before you ?

I have thought about this too. The reasons I decided not to do it are:
- I don't plan to ever play any mmorpg or similar again. Diablo 2 is the only game of the sort I've played.
- Some of my items are unsellable since they are massively duped, for example perm bugbelts. I'd rather give these to someone.
- I don't want to spend the time trading because it bores me big time.
